The postcard shows Gutzon Borglum's early scaled down design of the Memorial. Originally called The Shrine of Democracy the model shows Mt. Rushmore National Memorial depicting 60 ft faces of four presidents, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. These presidents were representative of the nation's birth, growth, development, and preservation. Carving of the memorial began in 1927 and ended, unfinished, because of lack of funding in October of 1941.

The postcard is a very good condition with no notable damage or defects just a very slight rounding of the corners. The postcard has no postage added to it and no writing or marks at all.
