Collection of four letters on 1901 Pan American Exposition, Buffalo, NY, letterhead and one envelope with Pan American Expo graphics addressed to George Urban, Jr., prominent Buffalo industrialist and Board Director of the Exposition:

  • Two letters (February 23, 1900 & April 5, 1900) from Edwin Fleming, Exposition Secretary
  • Two letters (April 17, 1900 & April 30, 1900) from Newcomb Carlton, Exposition Director of Works
  • One envelope with Exposition graphics from Whittet, Barrett & Co Engineers' Supplies, post marked Aug 13 1901.
All in very good condition.George Urban, Jr., a nationally important miller, was also a pioneer the development of electric light and power. He organized and led early area electric light companies that became the Buffalo General Electric Company, and later, the Niagara Electric Corporation. Urban and Buffalo Mayor Diehl came up with the idea for an Exposition in Buffalo and promoted it.
