We are offering a scrapbook (1962-1965) of Frank M. Skinner, Jr., NBC-TV Set Designer. (12" x 15")The scrapbook is filled with original photographs of stars of movie & stage; ticket stubs from plays & ballets; letters to him; invitations; thank you notes; magazine & playbill covers; newspaper articles; and his comments and critiques of plays he had seen. Skinner designed the sets for the play "The St. Mathew's Passion", produced by Samuel Chotzinoff, producer of NBC Television Opera Theatre, and also designed and decorated offices for some stars and NBC executives.
**NOTE** - THE ORIGINAL PHOTOGRAPHS ARE: "The Last Portrait of Marily Monroe Before Her Death"; Anne Bancroft with Hugh Downs; Dina Merrill with Peter Falk; Maureen O'Sullivan (signed);Max von Sydow as Jesus in the film "The Greatest Story Ever Told";Andy Williams, Carol Burnett and Harry Belafonte; Noel Coward with others; Rudolph Nureyev, Ballet Star; Jacques D'Amboise, Ballet Star; Margot Fontyne, Ballerina in "Swan Lake"; David Blair as "Mercutio" (Romeo & Juliet); Lynn Seymour In "Romeo & Juliet";the performers of "The St. Mathew's Passion"Opera;and others.There is a photo of Frank Skinner standing on one of his "make believe streets" he had designed & others of him.
THANK YOU NOTES & LETTERS: Maureen O'Sullivan telling him how much she adores her office that he had designed and decorated for her; David Tebet, Vice President of Talent Relations for NBC, thanking Skinner for how elegantly he had designed his office; signed letter from actress, Carol Burnett, letters asking for his decorating advice. Also, letters from various other people.
There is the original color sketch by Skinner of an invitation he had designed for the NBC Affiliates Dinner at the Waldorf. A sketch of Shakespeare - for the celebration of his 400th Birthday (1564-1964) - with a schedule of 10 of Shakespeare's plays he would attend; and his original sketch of the costume he had designed for Sir John Falstaff in "Henry IV.There is a original photograph of Skinner's sketch of Noel Coward for NBC's"Today Salutes Noel Coward. Set Designer Frank Skinner", and a picture of John F. Kennedy, right after his death, with a card attached with the initials "J.F.K". There are also many magazine pictures of different stars.
There are postcards and pictures from the 1965 Stratford Festival in Canada, along with a Canadian one-dollar bill.**CONDITION** - Excellent - meticulously put together, with each item carefully and clearly captioned. The covers show slight wear.
