Historical context:interesting and rare poster issued at the end of World War 2 in May 1945.\"Squarish paper poster with a preprinted blue border and a graphic depiction of troop locations on a field suggesting a map of Germany divided into 4 quadrants. In the upper section are the title and insignia of the 70th Infantry Div., red rectangle with white ax, next the Third Army insignia, circle with white A. Inside the quadrants are unit names and insignias with red and yellow shading. 1st quadrant: III Corps, blue caltrop; 99th Infantry Div., checkerboard black shield; 4th Infantry Div., 4 green vines; 14th Armored Div., tricolored triangle. 2nd quadrant: XX Corps, shield with yellow crampons; 65th Infantry Div., blue shield with white halbert; 80th Infantry Div., brown shield with mountains; 71st Infantry Div., red circle with blue 71; 13th Armored Div., tricolored triangle. 3rd quadrant: XII Corps, blue shield with yellow X; 5th Infantry Div., red diamond; 26th Infantry Div., brown diamond with blue YD; 90th Infantry Div., red TO; 11th Armored Div. and 4th Armored Div., tricolored triangle. 4th quadrant: V Corps, blue pentagon; 2nd Infantry Div., black shield with man wearing headdress; 1st Infantry Div., brown shield with red 1; 97th Infantry Div., blue shield with white trident; 9th Armored Div., and 16th Armored Div., tricolored triangle.
