Antique Repousse Silver Inlay Box Paradise Peacock Bird MOP Trinket Jewelry READ For Sale

This is an incredibly detailed, wonderfully busy silver and mother of pearl box. There is also an element of what we are guessing is paper mache. The outside is mostly MOP with silver inlay. The interior is absolutely our favorite part. The deep green paper on the lid has a gorgeous peacock, pheasant, or maybe even bird of paradise in gold tone on it. The compartments are just fantastic! Repousse detail everywhere with more MOP and silver inlay on the lids/doors of the compartments. Please note: we do not know the purity of the silver. It is so detailed and lovely, though! If you enjoy small, intimate details like we do, this is the box for you. In fair condition--you can see the areas of inlay and paper wear in our photos--but still such a little treasure.
