Fine and scarce lot all relating to one serviceman in the Royal Canadian Air Force from being a LAC through to his training as a Pilot Officer. Comprises: Many photos, lots of them small snapshots inc service pics (in flight, at bases, colleagues and seen from Canada and elsewhere) and also some personal photos, also aquantity of negatives I believe relating to these photos but not checked thoroughly. A large number of 1945-1948 (approx) Forces Letters, Air Letters and envelopes with contents I think alot from his girlfriend in the UK and great social history? Alot addressed to him serving with 194 and 267 squadrons. Some of the later letters/envelopes addressed to him when living at Westminster Abbey Cloisters! A business card leather wallet with cards as diverse as Montreal Loco Works employees pass, Haymarket Club London, Soc. Naval Architects, Engineers Club Montreal these all for this person plus a few other various). Few Allied Forces banknotes (I believe these brought back by this person from Egypt, Ceylon, Tripolitania, Italy, Malaya etc) in worn condition. Various RAF/RCAF passes and ephemera. Best of all his RCAF Pilots Flying Log book completed from 1943 through to Feb 1946 and covering his training in UK and Canada (Moncton, DeWinton, Carberry, Saskatoon) and service flying (Karachi, Calcutta, Mingaladon bases seen) with flights also to Akyab, Bagachi, Barrackpore, Kengtung, Bangkok, Saigon etc. The log probably threequarters full of entries and includes complete list of service at the back and planes flown. Finally 3 Canadian maps Air Navigation Editions showing bases/airports, flight paths etc (Banff-Bassano, Brandon-Winnipeg, Indian Head-Brandon) some with hand notes and some wear. I assume these used by him in training as contemporary with his time there. Odd small faults but a fine lot and difficult to find items covering reasonable scope of service and personal items.
