Vintage Mid Century Modern MCM Round Metal Wire Tripod Stand Or Cradle YellowThis vintage Mid Century Modern metal rod wire tripod stand / cradle / holder is a bit of a mystery to me. I am not sure if it was originally meant to hold a paper map globe, baking dish such as Pyrex or an unknown brand, lamp shade/bulb outlet or simply a decorative bowl and have not been able to identify it via my usual avenues. It is made of soldered/welded metal wire with 3 rubber cap feet and lemon yellow paint that is actively flaking off and missing over quite a bit of the metal. Approximate weight is 12 ozs
Measures approximately 6.25" x 11.25" x 11.25" overall. The inside of the metal top ring measures from 10.75" to 11" across depending on where you measure at because the ring isn't perfectly round. With that said, I am guessing that whatever this piece originally held sat against the 3 metal balls as they are missing paint on the inside facing surfaces but I can't confirm or guarantee. The metal wire that the piece is constructed of is around 3/16" wide.
Condition: In vintage pre-owned AS-IS used condition with wear including very heavy paint loss, acitvely chipping/flaking paint, rust, patina, tarnish, if the paint is not original the original finish has likely degraded and lost finish underneath the paint, the 3 rubber feet caps have paper or string inside of them so they hold onto the metal feet, the piece overall is out of round, one of the legs appears to be bent a bit as the piece doesn't sit perfectly level, the painted surface and exposed metal surface includes wear such as dirt, dust, grime, scratches, dents, dings, discoloring, stains, scuffing, abrasions, rust, dulling, pitting and overall heavy wear from age and handling.
