ULTRA RARE History 1908 Celilo Canal possibly earliest upper end construction. Steam shovel is working away and just beyond it is one of the Portage locomotives. Look how oddly the tracks are laid out. All very temporary as they may have been constantly changing where they are needed. The camp is to the left. This I believe shows the section that is maybe right after the rail bridge (not yet there) and between there are Cape Horn seen in the distance. I did a good maps search and that is what I came up with. I had no idea I still had this photo as it was in a letter that I am putting up next. It was a recommendation from the Chief draftsman to another at Big Eddy.
