This rare postcard depicts the train wreck in Bangor Maine in 1907.The last image is a newspaper clipping from the Daily Kennebec journal (Augusta, Me.), July 25, 1907 about the event.It reads:
"A. J. Markley Hurt In Wreck. Injured In Freight Smash-up In Bangor.
Bangor, Me., July 24.—A. J. Markley of this city was severely bruised about the back today by the wrecking of a train of freight cars which were being shifted from the Bangor Maine Central Railroad yard of the Maine central Railroad. He was taken to the hospital local yard of the Maine branch “The track for some distance was riddled by cars being thrown onto a switch. No others were injured. The cars when they broke away and striking about 10 feet below.”
