RARE Photo of US Army Boxing Match held at Camp Upton NY, March 23, 1918. See NY Times and information from Underwood and Underwood that tells about the event. Per NY Times this was a huge Boxing Tournament, which ran at least the month of March, not clear if this was the final bouts or not. Or who were the final winners.
There were 20,000+ soldiers that attended, making this a fantastic event and quoted as the largest of its kind at the time.
The photo is in Fair condition, damage upper right area shows moisture stains, with missing area along edge. Some light creasing same area. Corner tip missing lower left corner, there several tears in the lower edge, small tear and missing piece lower right area. The good thing is the photo is very nice, and a great collection piece. Measures 14 x 11.
