Up for sale is the flight control stick from an F-16 Fighting Falcon, also known as the Viper Snake. This is not a reproduction made out of fiberglass resin or a PC joystick for a flight simulator This particular Flight Control Stick appears to have been removed from service sometime between 1986 and 1988 from the markings on the bottom of the wrist rest. All buttons seem to function as normal when depressed with a nice tactile click. All lettering and other markings are faded butvisible. The finish on the grip is worn but it has a very nice wear pattern and patina if you want to call it that.
What might you ask is this Flight Control Stick good for? Let me tell you about a few options. For starters, this could be a nice gift for the Former Fighter Jock that used to strap into one of these Vipers and defend our Nation. This Flight Control Stick could be mounted on a plaque and placed on a desk or hung on a wall as a nice conversation piece for said Former Fighter Jock.
For the superelectronicsgeek who is froggy enough to try it, you could map the electrical pin outs in the base of the control stick and make it an actual Joystick for your computer. How cool would that be?(To be clear, there is no warranty orguaranteethat the internal workings of this flight control stick are functional.)
Lastly, and this is what I had in mind, this flight control stick could be mounted to the shifter of a manual transmission vehicle and used as an awesomely custom shifter for a rat rod or other custom vehicle.
