Installation of textures:
Copy the map texture.OHLQE to your Posky Finnair A340 map in drive/microsoft
games/flightsimulator 9/aircraft map
Then open aircraft.cfg with notepad and add the following lines:
[fltsim.xx] <-- Replace the xx by the following number in the present
aircraft.cfg, then remove this additional line-->
title=Finnair Airbus A340-313E OH-LQE

--------------------------------
Please check the lines MODEL, PANEL and SOUND! If your model is VC you have to
change MODEL=WV to MODEL=VC
Same for another panel or soundpackage!
Note: Please don't blame me for the Iberia tail on right fuselage is wrong way
around!
This is done wrong at the real OH-LQE as well! I only repainted the real
aircraft to have it as real as possible!
Goodluck and happy flying!
Best regards,
Cornelis Boersma

What this FDE updates:
===========================
- Compatibility issue between the visual model and the FDE
results in some A340s leaning slightly to one side. Previous versions
minimized this effect, however, this version appears to reduce
the possibility of this occurence even more.
- Use of only true A340 footprint in contact points. No default gear
points (3 points, nose, left main, and right main). The default
gear points have been eliminated as the wing flex animation is no longer tied
to gear strut compression. Result is more realistic feeling on taxi and
touchdown
with true A340 footprint and compression. This may, however, cause autobraking
not to function properly on some freeware panels.
- Adjusted CG point based on A340 pilot feedback. CG now located at 26% Mean
Aerodynamic
Cord (28.15m from the aircraft nose) vs. the Airbus documentation range between
20.7% to 38.2%
MAC. This results in less shifting of weight during aircraft flight and on the
FS2004
payload editor.
- Updated Payload weights based on pilot feedback. Now, instead of generic
Airbus
documentation loading showing a passenger configuration of 253 pax (-200) and
295 (-300),
weight now set based on actual real life carrier configuration. Removed gallies,
added bulk cargo section.
- Updated fuel tank capacities based on pilot input. Liter to Gallon conversion
of
1L = .2639 US Gal. However, as FS2004 by default on loading always fills all
tanks up
to 100% capacity, the aircraft will typically be overweight when loaded. It is
up to the
pilot to remove weight (fuel and/or payload) to get the plane to it's max ramp
weight, or
below the max takeoff weight.
New usable fuel weights are:
Center tank = 42420L = 11194.638 Gal (was 11210.000 Gal)
Trim tank = 6230L = 1644.097 Gal (was 1650.000 Gal)
Center tank 2= 7200L = 1900.800 Gal (was 1814.500 Gal)
Inner tank-L = 42755L = 11283.044 Gal (was 11303.000 Gal)
Inner tank-R = 42755L = 11283.044 Gal (was 11303.000 Gal)
Outer tank-L = 3650L = 963.235 Gal (was 970.000 Gal)
Outer tank-R = 3650L = 963.235 Gal (was 970.000 Gal)
- Adjusted VC light based on new VC location in visual model.
- Adjusted -300 inspection light locations.
Included in this FDE release:
===========================
- compatibility with FS2004
- use of payload and weight stations
- Door animation
- Verified compatible with PSS A340 panel (however, PSS panel causes too fast
roll rate. Fine in
default FS and payware panels)
- Included A340-200 -5C3 and -5C4 engine models
- Included A340-313E model for SAA and Sing w/-5C4/P engines and
increased MTOW.
- Repositioned inspection lights
- Repositioned eyepoint for VC
- Sherv gear points added as default gear points (nose, left main, right main).
(Warren gear points w/12 wheels, 4 struts as alternate gear points)
- A340 Manual updates (nose pitch to 12.5 degrees, added pilot A340
flying technique in FAQ)
- adjusted rudder max deflection angle
- adjusted elevator max deflection angle
- adjusted nose scrape contact point
