FS2004 Dassault Mirage III E and Mirage III C "Chevaliers du Ciel", complete
package, by Patrice Grange.
The Mirage III is the emblematic French Fighter of the sixties.
This new package contains 8 different aircraft(4 Mirage IIIC and 4 Mirage IIIE),
some of them with the famous paint schemes visible in the comics "Les Chevaliers
du Ciel" ("les aventures de Tanguy et Laverdure") and other with real paint
schemes used in the French Air Force during the sixties.
This package includes the content of my former "Mirage III E Chevaliers du Ciel"
pack. So you don't need to keep this one if you already had it.
The models have full moving parts and animatons (control surfaces, gears,
spoilers, canopy, pilot ejection, dragchute, rocket cover, pilot ladder, ...) +
a custom panel compatible with FS2004 + another one compatible with FSX. No VC.

Enjoy !
IMPORTANT :
- If you like French jet fighters of the Golden Age, please consider also my
SNCASO Trident package (use version 3), my Leduc 022, my Dassault Mirage G8 (use
version 4), my SNCASE Baroudeur (use version 3) and my Nord Aviation Griffon II,
all of them available on simviation.com.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION:
IMPORTANT : If you had installed my former package "Mirage III E Chevaliers du
Ciel" (from file "Mirage3E_Chev.zip"), the best thing to do is to remove it
before installing this new one, as the old content is fully included in the new
package, and even with improvements.
Then :
Just unzip the file "Mirage3E3C_Chev.zip", your will obtain 4 folders :
One folder named "Effects FS2004" : Normally you don't need it, except if you
see that a light (= nav light, cockpit light or afterburner) is missing when
flying the plane. If that happens, just copy and paste the content of this file
in the main "effects" folder of your FS2004 ("Flight Simulator 9 / effects") or
FSX ("Microsoft Flight Simulator X / effects"). As, normally, you should already
have these files, IF ASKED TO OVERWRITE, ANSWER "NO".
One folder named "Gauges FS2004": If you want to use the plane in FS2004, just
copy and paste all its content in the main "gauges" folder of your FS ("Flight
Simulator 9 / Gauges"). Normally, you should already have some of these gauges.
So, if asked to overwrite, please answer "no". If you want to use the plane in
fSX, you don't need the FS2004 gauges.
One folder named "Gauges FSX": If you want to use the plane in FSX, just copy
and paste all its content in the main "gauges" folder of your FSX ("Microsoft
Flight Simulator X / Gauges"). Normally, you should already have some of these
gauges. So, if asked to overwrite, please answer "no". If you want to use the
plane in fS2004, you don't need the FSX gauges.
One folder named "Mirage III E" : just copy this folder as it is, with all its
content (model.clean, model, panel, sound, texture, etc. etc.), in the "aircraft"
directory of your FS2004 (= "Flight Simulator 9 / aircraft") or in the "airplanes"
directory of your FSX (= "Microsoft Flight Simulator X / SimObjects / airplanes").
If you are prompted to confirm that you want to overwrite, that means that you
have kept in place my former Mirage III E. In that case, when asked the question
of overwriting, answer : YES TO ALL.
If you use FS2004, that's all ! If you use FSX, don't forget to enter inside the
folder "Mirage III E", to delete or backup the "panel" file (compatible with
FS2004 only) and then to rename as "panel" the folder "panel FSX".
For information, The "FSX" panel can be used for FS2004 as well (but not the
contrary), if you prefer it.
Launch FS2004 or FSX. In the aircraft list, look for the manufacturer "Marcel
Dassault", select the "Mirage III C Tanguy" or the "Mirage III E Canon Bleu",
and then choose one of the 4 variations for each one.
Take-off, and enjoy !
IMPORTANT : ANIMATIONS:
- All the moving parts (control surfaces, gears, spoilers, canopy ...) work with
the usual keys.
- IMPORTANT : Regarding the canopy, the exit key will open the canopy when the
aircraft is on the ground but the same key will activate the ejection process
when the aircraft is in flight.
- The cover of the rocket engine will appear or disappear using the "tailhook"
key (usually "h").
- You can fire or stop the flame of the postcombustion by using the key
attributed to the landing lights (usually "CTRL + L").
- The dragchute (parachute) will open if your spoilers are deployed ("/" key)
AND only if the aircraft is on the ground (deploying your spoilers when flying
will obviously NOT deploy the dragchute !) AND if your canopy is closed (no use
of a dragchute with an open canopy !).
- The ladder for the pilot works with the canopy key, but will only appear if
the plane is on the ground (normal, you are not supposed to use a ladder during
the flight !).
As the plane uses reflexive textures for the metal schemes, do no forget to
check that you have activated the "reflects" box in the menu "parameters /
display / aircraft" !!!
Send your comments to Patrice Grange, patrice.grange@wanadoo.fr
************** IMPORTANT ********
If the color of the aircraft is not stable under daylight, just unselect the
option "shadows of the aircraft" (the 2dn line), in the menu Options /
Parameters / Display or Graphics / Aircraft.
CREDITS:
Thanks to Jens Winkler, for the pilot and the seat that I have taken in the
freeware DO335 delivered with the FSDS2 package.
Thanks to the Alpha Simulation team (Chris Lampard, Michael Davies, Phil Perrott
and Udo Entenmann), as I used one of their "old" productions, now freeware, (a
Mirage III B), as a starting point for my flight model.
For the panels, I have mainly used stock gauges. For the other ones, I am sorry
but I dont know the name of the authors. Just let me know and I shall be happy
to add them to the credits.
THIS FILE IS A FREEWARE AND IS NOT TO BE SOLD OR USED IN ANY WAY TO MAKE MONEY
OR PROFIT.
DISCLAIMER :
This aircraft and this panel have been sucessfully tested for FS2004 on several
PC. The author shall NOT be held responsible for any damages arising from the
use of this aircraft, which is provided FREELY without warranty of any kind (and
which will not, normally, harm your computer !).
